Demian's photography satisfies his need to discover and personalise his surroundings. He finds endless opportunity and qualities in commonplace everyday architectural elements. This is expressed in his attention to the simple details: Put him in an empty car park and he's captivated!
Demian looks for satisfying juxtapositional contrasts of sunlight with dark shadows. Lines and angles become the focal detail of the image. The shapes and patterns created by architectural three-dimentional space are composed in bold graphic styles which evoke in the viewer a sense of balance and harmony.
His character is deeply embedded in his work, a vision, organisation; everything should have the right amount of space. Demian identifies with twentieth century German architectural photography, environmental often void of human life but clearly acknowledging our human existence.
